Next Thursday May 29th, The Modlins and The Hard To Get will rock The Scene Bar in Glendale for a benefit concert for an ALC scholarship fund. joining us that night is another great band from LA called The Black Kites. i've read a little interview with them on the RadioFreeSilverLake blog, and they seem pretty awesome ... plus there's still one more band to be announced, don't miss it ... details below ....

haven't been keeping up on the modlins and all their san diego escapades? wondering what's up?

in case you haven't been checking our With Friends Like These Blog ... let's see .... we're doing a Spring Tour w/ The Roman Spring out to Tucson, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Albuquerque. we're playing at the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, UCSD's SunGod Festival, plenty of local radio play, a TV performance, track on a SD Compilation and a Free Casbah show.

what? couldn't care less? only care about cool LA bands? well, we're also playing with your hometown favs The Happy Hollows down here at the Beauty Bar in June. Suck it Trebek!!!

The Modlins opening for British Sea Power @ Casbah 2/25

if any of you LA folk are interested in making the midweek trek down, The Modlins are opening for British Sea Power at the Casbah on monday Feb 25th. Part of fm 94/9's "Anti-Monday League". 21+, 9pm. tixs are $12 in advance, $14 at the door. you can buy em here. Should be a sweet show.

In case people were wondering, "Hey...why hasn't Parklights been playing shows? Their fan base is large enough for this to be a concern. I feel that they are letting a lot of people down by closing out their adoring followers," then don't you worry. We are currently in the process of recording hot new tracks designed to amaze. We should be done well before spring. After that, we belong to the people again.

you of course know us (or you should) ... swim party is probably the best band in san diego at the moment. The Fresas are your hometown heroes. Eux Autres is from Portland, and had their first CD recorded by a little known band from the Northwest as well, Sleater Kinney. in short, i can't think of anything that could top that night at the Lounge in Silverlake.
