The Modlins opening for British Sea Power @ Casbah 2/25

if any of you LA folk are interested in making the midweek trek down, The Modlins are opening for British Sea Power at the Casbah on monday Feb 25th. Part of fm 94/9's "Anti-Monday League". 21+, 9pm. tixs are $12 in advance, $14 at the door. you can buy em here. Should be a sweet show.

In case people were wondering, "Hey...why hasn't Parklights been playing shows? Their fan base is large enough for this to be a concern. I feel that they are letting a lot of people down by closing out their adoring followers," then don't you worry. We are currently in the process of recording hot new tracks designed to amaze. We should be done well before spring. After that, we belong to the people again.

you of course know us (or you should) ... swim party is probably the best band in san diego at the moment. The Fresas are your hometown heroes. Eux Autres is from Portland, and had their first CD recorded by a little known band from the Northwest as well, Sleater Kinney. in short, i can't think of anything that could top that night at the Lounge in Silverlake.

down here in san diego, we're hard at work on our next album. so hard, that it's nearly done (wha?!). we set up a blog to track the progress of the recording and thought we'd share it with all you fine spanish archer kids: http://with-friends-like-these.blogspot.com ..... check it out, we update it from time to time on how things are going. but if you don't have the time for that, and just want the nitty gritty. well how's this:

Henry Clay and Swim Party have both been getting much love from the blog scene in their respective cities, and anytime we play the Silverlake lounge it's a guaranteed party. the Joaniemen is the other project of members of The Ex-friends, Matt Curreri's band. the Joaniemen is the Joanie Mendenhall fronted version. you might also notice Ray Suen (violinist extraordinaire) as the new member of Louis XIV. what can i say, he's a cool kid.
